Kerala's most serene
hill station awaits.
Vagamon sits at 1,100 metres among meadows, pine forests, and tea estates. Velora is your base for all of it.
Five places every Vagamon
visitor must see.
Vagamon Meadows
The iconic rolling grasslands that define Vagamon. Vast open stretches of green perfect for paragliding, morning walks, photography, and simply sitting with a view. The meadows are most dramatic in the early morning when mist fills the lower valleys.
Vagamon Lake
A serene reservoir nestled among hills — popular for rowing, paddle boating, and quiet birdwatching sessions. The lake reflects the surrounding hills in perfect stillness on calm mornings. Small cafes around the periphery serve chai and local snacks.
Pine Forest
A magical grove of tall silver oak and pine that creates a natural forest canopy. The dappled light in the mornings is extraordinary. Popular trekking and walking trails run through the forest, suitable for all fitness levels.
Kurisumala Ashram
A centuries-old Cistercian monastery perched on a hilltop with panoramic views of the Western Ghats. The monks maintain a farm and a profound silence that visitors are asked to respect. The views from the hilltop are among the finest in all of Vagamon.
Thangalpara
A lesser-known viewpoint and trekking destination that rewards those who make the effort. The panoramic view of the valley and distant mountain ranges is spectacular at dawn. Less crowded than the main meadows — our guests' favourite secret spot.
Marmala Waterfall
A three-tiered waterfall cascading through forest — best visited during or just after the monsoon season when water levels are high. The route to the falls involves a short forest trek.
